Powell-Mason Line: (yellow destination signs) connects downtown San Francisco via North Beach and Columbus Avenue with the Fisherman’s Wharf District, and is closest to PIER 39, ending at the Bay & Taylor turntable. Route maps and fare information.
Powell-Hyde Line: (maroon destination signs) connecting downtown San Francisco via scenic Hyde Street (past the “Crookedest Street in the World” and down a steep 21 percent slope just before the terminus at Beach at the western edge of Fisherman’s Wharf. Route maps and fare information.

F Market & Wharves heritage streetcar service; connects PIER 39 is closest to Jefferson and The Embarcadero “PIER 39” station. The F Market runs from the Castro District on Upper Market through the heart of San Francisco’s business and Financial District to the Ferry Building, then traverses the Embarcadero to Jones Street. Cabs drop riders at a convenient taxi line at the entrance to PIER 39. For departures, catch a cab at the same taxi line.

Go all the way to the Bay end of PIER 39.

From the South Bay
101 North to San Francisco/Bay Bridge.
Exit at Fourth Street/Embarcadero.
Stay left onto Bryant Street to The Embarcadero.
Turn left onto The Embarcadero for about 1 1/2 miles.
The PIER 39 garage will be directly in front of you.
PIER 39 will be on your right. |
From the East Bay
Take the Bay Bridge to San Francisco.
Exit left at Main Street/Embarcadero.
At the bottom of the ramp, go right onto Harrison.
Turn left onto The Embarcadero for about 1 1/2 miles.
The PIER 39 garage will be directly in front of you.
PIER 39 will be on your right. |
| From the North Bay
Take the Golden Gate Bridge/Hwy 101 South to San Francisco.
Take Lombard Street exit.
Go about 2 miles and turn left onto Van Ness Avenue.
Turn right on Bay Street to the Embarcadero.
Turn left onto The Embarcadero for about 1 1/2 miles.
The PIER 39 is directly in front of you.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:
Take BART to the Embarcadero Station.
Catch the #32 MUNI bus to PIER 39 at the Ferry Building (across The Embarcadero).

Located at the edge of the Fisherman's Wharf district, PIER 39 is close to North Beach, Chinatown and the Embarcadero. The Hyde-Powell cable car will drop you at the west end of Fisherman’s Wharf or you can take the F-line streetcar (from Union Square). If you choose to drive, park in the PIER 39 Garage and receive free parking for one hour during lunch time or for two hours after 6:00pm. Ask your server to validate your ticket. |
